WORKS

SUPERMEDIUM

In SUPERMEDIUM, nine dancers will be the channelers of movements and dances. The piece investigates the creation and scenic presentation as a ritual and the body as a channel and archive that invokes other bodies. Supermedium is a large format version inspired by Medium.

M E D I U M

MEDIUM is a joint creation of choreographers Ingri Fiksdal (Oslo) and Núria Guiu (Bcn); a ghost performance in which Núria dances to the music of Stephen O’Malley/SUNN O))). The performance is about how the body is haunted by movements from personal, cultural and virtual archives.

CYBEREXORCISM

Cyberexorcism is a perfromance created in collaboration with five spanish Tik Tokers. The piece takes the Tik Tok app as its research base and aims to displace and/or exorcise the mechanisms and choreographic tools from the Internet to the stage.

SPIRITUAL BOYFRIENDS

A solo performance which revolves around yoga as a new form of self-discipline and biopower. Núria Guiu ironically approaches the practice through a visual iconography that creates a bridge between the Indian masters of the late 19th century, contemporary YouTubers, and the Holi festivals. Spirituality becomes flesh and the immaterial is replaced by the virtual; the internet as a new deity which observes from above.

LIKES

Likes bases itself on the analysis of two popular Youtube phenomena: cover dance tutorials and videos on the different techniques of yoga which have emerged and spread massively through social networks during the recent years. The artist approaches the audience from a socio-anthropological perspective with a speech about the social value of a “like” in our digital culture and society. The piece is a fresh and choreographic look at the presence of the body in the digital age.

FUTURALGIA (MOVIE)

Futuralgia is a comission work for Unusual Symptoms, Theater Bremen. After a performance created and presented during the period of pandemia 2020-21, a movie based on footage from the real creation process during pandemia context merged with fictional footage, premiered in Spring 2023 in Bremen.
